My current can't put down book is The Uncoupling by Meg Wolitzer. Not a romance, more of an anti-romance really, but one that has me rooting for happy endings for all of the couples. Has great female characters, too. My husband is a dreamer and a visionary and a bit of an alpha since he's a world class mountaineer. He's also an introverted intuitive just like me. It's probably why we've been together so long. I'm sure your career as a psychologists definitely helps you delve into the mind of your characters. I've always loved the sweet, funny, boy-next-boy type of heroes rather than extreme alpha males, so it's only natural I married a sweet man. (He does have his moments of alpha-ness, but since I'm pretty much a force to be reckoned with, it doesn't happen too often or it's not pretty! LOL) As for the last book I read...it's actually your A Time for Everything!Robinhttp://robindanner.webs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2294197930670383085.post-64014347295171089732012-12-03T07:35:29.320-08:002012-12-03T07:35:29.320-08:00Hi Clare!

Most romance readers wouldn't pick up her books. But the opposite is true, too. Most fantasy readers don't cross-germinate to romance.

In romance, the romance is the story. If you removed it, the story would go away. It's sort of like writing science fiction, where if you take the science out, there's no longer a story.

I'm learning a lot and having a good time. I think that for me the assured happily-ever-after is almost off-putting. I mean I WANT to see all the characters happy, but a lot of my favorite books have heroes who only succeed in part of their goals, but fail at others.

The last story I couldn't put down... I just finished (as in last night) The Soul Mirror by Carol Berg. Very twisty plot, unique characters, dark sorcery. There are hints of romance in this one, but definitely not the focus.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
